Needed a place with good food and coffee while I worked for an hour and this hit the spot! Unique, cute, great coffee and food, and good seating. I would come back just to eat a meal and hang with friends too :)

Sa-Ten is SO awesome! Japanese-style coffee shops are nearly non-existent in Austin, so I'm ecstatic that we get to have a place like this. The coffee and tea is already great, but they also serve some seriously delicious food! The inside is super cozy when I came in to work early on a Friday morning. I absolutely love the wooden decor and decorations, consisting of (but not limited) to lucky cats and a retro TV aquarium? The menu has some great options you can't get in most places like a black sesame latte, but what really blew me away was their Houjicha latte. I've never found any place in Austin that serves Houjicha so I had to get it—and it was one of the most delicious drinks I've ever had! If you need more convincing, the staff said that the owners bring back their Houjicha from Japan whenever they visit, so you know you're gettng top-notch quality here. Of course, the food was fantastic too. I've had both the chicken katsu plate and the toast and highly recommend both. Overall, full marks to this lovely place.

Vibey, refined but in that contemporary hipster way. Music was comfy and old. Layout has a lot of seating. There are lots of good food options. The onigiri options are nice, I tried the ume and it was wonderfully sour. Espresso coffee is well done, my cappuccino was very pleasant, lightly sweet, and very coffee. A nice place to sit and work, would probably be a cute date spot too.

Sa-Ten is a neat cafe with wild toasts and a good black coffee. Their aesthetic is somewhere between victorian library and japanese ramen shop. The 12 “chicken and gravy toast” was a lot for the money - crispy chicken katsu, fluffy THIC toast, a runny egg on top of a gravy blanket. This morning, people were here to work. Laptops and notebooks open on every table, I felt the productivity and good energy, even as it began to rain.

best meal for the price for lunch Get the chicken katsu with kale salad and Japanese Curry and matcha latte hot or iced and you will walk away full and fulfilled. Everything is good on the menu and the drinks are good. Lunch time can get packed so go early

Very delicious food, coffee and pastries. I tried the Chicken Kara-age plate for lunch and was blown away by the flavors. With the kale and potato salad on the side, and white rice that tasted slightly like seaweed (flakes on top). 1st visit & will definitely return.

One of the most slept-on coffee shops/restaurants in Austin. The brown sugar lemonade is amazing on a hot summer day. I got the protein plate with kara-age chicken, milk toast, kale salad and japanese potato salad earlier this week and I am STILL thinking about it. One of the best meals I’ve had in months and best of all, the prices are reasonable for the portions and quality of the food you get.
